SGA10 Error on usvisascheduling: What It Means and How to Fix It

You open the scheduling page on the US visa appointment portal (usvisascheduling.com), pick a city, and the dates just keep showing Loading. At the top of the page there's a single line:

SGA10

No explanation — just a code.

Key Point: SGA10 means "your application can't book this step right now." It isn't a network problem and it doesn't mean there are no slots, so no amount of refreshing will fix it. Figure out which situation you're in first, then fix that.

Case 1: Visa Fee Not Paid or Application Not Finished

The most common cause is that the application itself hasn't reached the stage where you can book:

  • The visa fee (MRV fee) hasn't been paid, or you paid but the system hasn't confirmed it yet;
  • Some steps in the application are still incomplete, such as applicant details or the document delivery address.

We've seen this ourselves: several accounts in Mumbai, India, whose visa fees hadn't been paid got SGA10 every time they checked dates on the scheduling page. Accounts like these usually still show a Continue Application link on the home page, which leads to the payment or application-details page.

How to fix it:

  1. Go back to the home page (Visa Application Home), click Continue Application, and see which step you're stuck on.
  2. Finish the payment and any remaining steps.
  3. If you've just paid, wait until the system confirms the payment before going to the scheduling page.
  4. If everything is done and you still get SGA10, contact usvisascheduling support to check your application status.

Case 2: Two-Step Booking — Your OFC Hold Expired

In India and some other countries, US visa appointments are booked in two steps: first the biometrics appointment (OFC / VAC), then the consular interview. Once you book an OFC slot, it's only held temporarily (the community generally says about 45 minutes), and you must book the interview within that time. If you don't, the OFC appointment is released automatically.

Once the OFC slot has been released, going back to the interview page gives you SGA10: with no OFC appointment, you can't book an interview.

One F1 applicant from India on Reddit described a typical case: they booked OFC four times, and every time the interview page had no slots. After logging out and coming back a while later, the scheduling button on the home page had gone back to booking OFC, and opening the interview page directly showed SGA10.

How to fix it:

  1. Go back to the home page, click the scheduling link again, and start over from booking OFC.
  2. After you book OFC this time, stay on the interview page and check interview slots in each city in turn while the hold lasts.
  3. If interview slots are the hard part, read this: OFC booked but no consular slots in India — what to do.

"One or more receipts have expired" When Rescheduling

If you already have an appointment and are rescheduling, refreshing the interview page after your OFC hold has run out shows a different message instead of SGA10:

One or more receipts have expired. You cannot schedule appointments until your application is paid in full. Please navigate to the Visa Application Home page and use the Continue Application link to go to the Payment Options page to complete payment.

usvisascheduling One or more receipts have expired when rescheduling

Read literally, it says "your receipt has expired, please pay first," which is alarming. But according to community experience, when it appears in the middle of a reschedule, it has nothing to do with payment — it's the rescheduling version of SGA10: your OFC hold has run out. Go back to the home page and start again from booking OFC.

If you're not rescheduling and see this message on your very first booking, take it literally: check whether your visa fee has been paid in full or has expired.

Other SGA Error Codes

CodeWhat's known
SGA14Flashes briefly when the scheduling page first opens and disappears once the page finishes loading — safe to ignore
SGA18According to a troubleshooting guide on Reddit, appears in two-step booking when you go back to the OFC page after booking OFC but not the interview
SGA28Appears when submitting an OFC booking: this account already has an OFC appointment (or one on hold), so it can't book another
SGA29Applicants in China often see it together with PSE0504 during slot releases; there's no reliable explanation of what it means yet
SGA34Reported by Reddit users when H1B applicants try to pick certain consulates after booking OFC; may relate to which consulates a visa category can choose — unconfirmed

Two-Step Booking Too Hard to Manage? Let LuckyBee Book It

The hardest part of two-step booking: once you get OFC, you have very little time to sit on the interview page checking city after city. LuckyBee Expedite supports the usvisascheduling (CGI) system:

  • It automatically detects which stage your application is at, and tells you upfront if the fee is unpaid or the application is incomplete, so you don't wait for nothing;
  • For two-step booking it books OFC first, then checks interview slots in every city you accept while the hold lasts — you don't have to sit at your computer;
  • You pay only after the appointment is booked — no booking, no charge — and we never change anything in your account.

FAQ

Q: Does SGA10 mean my usvisascheduling account is banned? A: No. SGA10 means your application can't book this step right now — because the fee is unpaid, the application is incomplete, or your OFC hold has expired in two-step booking. Your account itself is fine.

Q: Will refreshing fix SGA10? A: No. SGA10 is about your application status, so refreshing changes nothing. You need to go back to the home page and finish the payment or application steps, or start again from booking OFC.

Q: How soon can I book after paying the visa fee? A: As soon as the system confirms your payment. Confirmation takes some time; if you've waited a long while and the scheduling page still shows SGA10, contact usvisascheduling support to check.

Q: After booking OFC, how long do I have to book the interview? A: The community generally says about 45 minutes; it has not been officially published. Start checking for interview slots right after booking OFC, and don't log out.

Q: I see "One or more receipts have expired" while rescheduling. Do I need to pay again? A: If you're rescheduling and just booked OFC, usually not. Community experience is that during a reschedule this message means your OFC hold has run out — go back to the home page and start again from booking OFC. Only check your visa fee if you see this message on your first booking.
