The US visa interview appointment system in Canada has introduced an important update, opening a priority booking channel for Permanent Residents (PR) and citizens. Eligible applicants can now book significantly earlier interview dates.
What's New
Applicants holding Canadian PR or citizenship can now access a priority channel within the system to book earlier interviews. Available dates through this channel are notably sooner than the standard booking pool.
Eligibility
The priority channel is available to applicants holding:
- Canadian Passport
- PR Card
- Record of Landing (IMM1000)
- Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688)
How to Access
- Log into the AIS appointment system
- Cancel your existing appointment
- Click "Edit" next to DS-160, then save without changes
- Select your status type on the confirmation page
- Enter the booking page to select your new interview date
Important Warning
You must select your actual status! Choose only the status that matches your real identity. You will be required to present original documentation on interview day. If your selected status does not match your actual documents, you will be denied entry to the consulate for your interview.
